So much to do, so little time..

Well, now that Rhianna’s gotten back into a normal sleep pattern (bed by 9, up around 8), I have a little time at night to do “fun” stuff. Playing StarWarsGalaxies & JumpToLightspeed, working on Ytnef, and reading books. But now that I’ve finished The Dark Tower series, what do I read?

Well, I’ve heard good things about Neal Stephenson’s Baroque Cycle series. Personally, I loved Snow Crash, so I’ll probably get started on that series soon. First tho, I still need to finish my old hardcover copy of Cryptonomicon. I got about halfway through it last time, then got distracted with college stuff. From what I remember, it was a pretty good book. I know PatrickNeal didn’t really enjoy it too much, and I kinda agree that it’s a little math-heavy and kinda gets bogged down in places, but I was really enjoying it for the realism & thoughts on Computer Security and such.

So I suppose I’ll start reading that again soon.. Maybe I can put up a review or something about it later.

Dark Tower V: The Wolves of Calla

It’s finally out! Laura got it for me for Christmas, and gave it to me last night.

The first four books have always been my favorite books from Stephen King. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read alot of his books, mostly the older stuff (Needful Things, Christine, The Talisman, The Running Man, Carrie, Cujo, The Green Mile, etc). But the Dark Tower has always been my favorite, and in my opinion some of his best work (And by the way, if you have only seen the movies of those books, you just have no idea what you’re missing).

I can hardly wait to see what happens in
The Wolves of Calla, I’m sure it’s gonna be great! I might have to go back and reread some of the old books though, I’ve been reading the series for almost 10 years now! I remember the basics, but I’m sure that won’t be enough. And to top it off, they have release dates for the next two books! “Song of Susannah” in Summer 2004, and the final installment “The Dark Tower” in November 2004!
