I heard about this earlier today, but just saw an ‘official’ news story with some details.

“It s a small price to pay for a little better control of the ingredient that we need to have a better handle on ” said Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee.

McGee joined a handful of other law enforcement officers at the state capitol this week supporting two bills which would make pseudoephedrine a schedule-three drug requiring a prescription for anyone to get it. Anyone caught with it illegally would be facing a felony.

All because of Meth.  So, in a time when Americans (especially Mississippians) are cash-strapped, they want to make a $5 med cost an extra $85 Medical visit just to get a petty prescription.  I have asthma and bad sinus problems every year, and I already have to show ID & sign my life away to get the stuff now.

Sadly, both the Mississippi House and Senate have passed a bill for this, so it looks like it’s going to happen.  Wonder what the rules will be on buying it in neighboring states?
