"I found a generic driver that will work for SanDisk U3Cruzer Micro SDCZ6. I tried about 15 drivers, and this is the only one that worked. I tested it on 3 machines and it worked on all of them. I posted the driver on Driversguide.com. File name SanDisk U3Cruzer Micro.zip. This driver is for Windows98SE only."

This is actually legit. Yes, you do have to sign up for a stupid account (just make a quick hotmail account and forget about it) and dodge around some advertisement before you can actually download it, but once you do, just follow the Read Me instructions and volla! Worked like a charm (at least for me it did). I have a SDCZ6-1024 working fine and talking with a 98SE box and couldn't be happier. It's sad that SanDisk doesn't support Windows 98, and even more depressing that I've been trying for 3 days to get this thing to work. Over all, well done "Anonymous"!!! :D

As far as I can tell, there is a minor difference in hw on a U3 drive as compared to a regular flash drive. As windows XP (and probably vista) does not allow autoplay from usb mass storage devices (includes usb flash drives) to get around this limitation, a U3 drive has an extra USB endpoint that emulates a USB CDROM drive containing a small autoplay application. The sole purpose of this virtual cdrom drive is to make the U3 drive capable of autorunning when it's plugged in. This *could* explain the apparent absense of drivers being available for win98 but I can see no technical limitation there - only a lack of willingness from the manufacturers in writting one. It has also been suggested that U3 drives contain hardware to assist in encryption of their contents

The above instructions worked just like a charm for SDCZ6-1024 (www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductInfo.aspx.)

Here is the driver.
www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/USBFlashDrives/cruzer_family/Cruzer_Family_98SE.zip

Nothing worked after using install. The piece that I was missing was to search for driver under HardDrive controllers. It was very simple after that - too simple.

Two-thumbs up for the previous post.

follow exactely the instructions from http://forums.driverguide.com/showthread.php?t=22620

I followed the instructions there and was (finally) able to see the files on the stick.
I found a generic driver that will work for SanDisk U3Cruzer Micro SDCZ6. I tried about 15 drivers, and this is the only one that worked. I tested it on 3 machines and it worked on all of them. I posted the driver on Driversguide.com. File name SanDisk U3Cruzer Micro.zip. This driver is for Windows98SE only.

Thank you. I wasted an evening trying install Cruzer Micro driver for SDCZ6 on 98SE until I found this article. They stop supporting older windows to easily. 98SE is still very much around and data needs to be transfered sometimes. Cruzer seems to have some arrogant attitude and provides limited products for data transfer.
