Well, Laura’s mom surprised us this morning when she walked in the door right after lunch. Rhianna was already down for an afternoon nap, so it was a nice quiet entry. She decided that Laura & I needed a night together out on the town, so she came by to babysit for us. Well, you don’t have to tell us twice. Thirty minutes later, and we’re out the door.

Well, we hit StarBucks for some coffee. One thing we’ve learned as we’ve gotten older is that we need Coffee just to keep moving. After recharging the batteries there, we went on to the mall and did some shopping and general wandering around. There’s a new store in the mall called “Kringle’s”, a Christmas specialty store selling ornaments and decorations. Laura loves that kinda stuff so we browsed through. I noticed a sign about them hiring, and Laura thought she’ld go ask about it. Five minutes later, she’s got a weekend job. It’s only 15 or 20 hours a week, but it’s $7 an hour, so it’ll make for some good Christmas “Mad Money”.

We wrapped up the evening with a wonderful meal at Red Lobster, where I enjoyed the Endless Shrimp dinner. Laura tackled and lost against the massive “Lobsterita”, and we ended with the “Chocolate Wave”. We had planned to go see a movie, but it seems Tinseltown doesn’t start moving during the 5:00 and 6:00 block, so we would have waited 2 hours for the 7:30 movies to start.

So we called it an early night to come home and curl up in front of the TV. All in all, a good weekend.
