We spent Sunday busting our butts moving stuff from the apartment to the new house. All of the major items are moved now, but there’s several trips remaining of little things. We’ve got to the end of the month, so another week and a half.

One neat thing this weekend was getting the phone working. We have Time Warner cable, and we got Uniden TRU8898 5.8Ghz expandable phone. So now we’re completely Bellsouth-free, and so far loving it :) The audio quality on the Vonage stuff is just as good as a regular line, and it’s adjustable. The new phones are nice too, you can use the caller ID & Answering Machine functions from any of the handsets.

The one thing I was a little worried about was all the recent hoopla about VoIP 911 capabilities. Well, I set mine up just fine. 10 minutes after I registered the service (which only took 5 minutes), the line was working. I logged in and setup 911 (1 page form, took all of 30 seconds), and a few hours later I got notification that it was working. I’ll probably call tonight and do a line test to make sure it’s functioning properly, but I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about.
