Just happy, that’s all…
Today it’s pretty quiet in the office, so I took off by myself to hit Taco Bell for lunch. It’s about 60 degrees outside, with a nice gentle breeze, so I rolled down the windows and headed to taco bell.
Listened to the crickets & grasshoppers, listened to some Miss 103 on the radio.. Took a deep breath and I could smell the freshly cut grass and Wisteria in full bloom. Driving up and down the hills, around the sharp windy country roads that surround Vicksburg. I know Laura’s at home with Rhianna, and when I call to see how they’re doing she puts Rhianna on the phone. It’s amazing to hear how fast she’s growing up.
* Me: “Hey Rhianna”
* Rhianna: “Hey!”
* Me: “How are you doin?”
* Rhianna: “Gud”
* Me: “Are you having fun with mommy?”
* Rhianna: …
* Me: …
* Rhianna: “Ho er you dada?”
* Me: “I’m good sweetie, thank you”
* Rhianna: “Bye!”
Sometimes, it just strikes me how good it is to be back home where things just make sense..
