Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting…
Had a pretty good weekend. Laura & I left the apartment early Friday and got in with plenty of time to play with Rhianna Friday afternoon. She’s cutting another tooth, so she’s been a little bit grumpy.
Saturday night we took some time to ourselves, and went to see Kung Fu Hustle, the new kung-fu comedy imported by Sony Pictures Classics. Excellent movie! Some great fighting scenes, some well-placed CG effects, and a hilarious storyline. 5 stars! I haven’t seen it yet, but as soon as I can get my hands on it I want to see ’s other work Shaolin Soccer.
Then, last night back at the apartment, we watched House of Flying Daggers. It’s another beautiful movie by Yimou Zhang, who also directed a personal favorite of mine Hero. The movie, while not as visually stunning as Hero, was still a great romantic storyline with some excellent visuals. 4 of 5 stars, definately! It would be 5 of 5 stars, but I’ve seen Hero so I have high expectations.
