Rhianna + Dirt = ?
A good 45 minutes of entertainment, I tell ya.. and it would have been alot longer had I not just picked her up and brought her inside
I had to come home a little early yesterday to watch Rhianna while Laura went to a class on “Medical Errors” (don’t worry, she said it was even more boring that it sounds). So, I decided to take her over to the apartment playground so she could play on the swings & slides. We swung for a bit, which she found mildly entertaining, but when we got down on the ground, wow..
She just grabbed up cedar chips & dirt by the handful and flung it everywhere. It’s been a while since I saw her that excited. Not happy, really, just excited.. Like hyper-ventilated type excited. Like I halfway expected smoke to come out her ears, she was trying to process so much so fast. She chased ducks, she threw dirt, she even grabbed a football and played with it. She was a little scared of the slide, but after once or twice with some help, she started enjoying it.
She’s still shy though. Some neighbor’s kids come out to play, and Rhianna was just fascinated watching them throw a frisbee around. One of them came up to Rhianna to give her a big ball to bounce, and Rhianna started at him for a few seconds, then ran around behind my leg to hide. It was cute, but I guess we need to start getting her used to being around more people. But I suppose a little shyness isn’t a bad thing, it’ll keep her away from “strangers”.
