Web-Cam\’ing
I spend a little time yesterday hooking up my Logitech USB Webcam Pro 4000 to my new computer. For those of you who don’t know, I got a nice new computer a few weeks ago. AMD 3000 (3Ghz), 1 gig Ram, and a Geforce 5900FX.
Anyway, it took a little while to get the camera working (Thanks to Logitech’s 40meg driver download, geez), but I finally got it hooked up. Few minutes later, I was online with Mom & Dad via Yahoo Messenger. WE use Yahoo because it has a special Super mode. For some reason, it never would work on my old machine, but it worked first time on the new machine. I setup the Streaming audio too, and we were rockin
I setup the camera in Rhianna’s playpen and we played for a good 30 minutes to and hour with Mom and Dad watching, and talking to her. It was cute, and fun
I imagine we’re going to be doing alot more of that in the coming weeks and months.
Also, those of you who know me know my Seimens Speedstream router has been giving me fits for months, and I’ve been too lazy to call technical support to get it fixed. Not as if they could help anyway. I was sure it had to be a memory or IC problem, as it would just simply “get stuck” repeating the same packet over and over again, and stop accepting any incoming traffic. It was random, erratic, and unrepeatable. Well, my dad found that they *finally* released a firmware upgrade a few weeks ago, so I upgraded from release7 to release10, and whaddya know.. It works. Perfectly. I don’t know what happened to release 8 and 9, I guess they were just internal bugfix releases.
So in short, my computer problems are almost totally solved. Except for the one pervasive problem: What to do with all the leftover hardware?
