Back to the grind
Well, Rhianna’s been back for about a week from visiting her grandparents. I have to admit, her grandparents spoiled her good during that two weeks
The only real problem Laura & I have had is in trying to get Rhianna to sleep at night. Between the long cuddly naps she had gotten accustomed to, the rocking, the timezone difference, and then the long 15 hour drive back to Florida, her schedule was all messed up. After about a week of putting Rhianna to bed about 1am every night, we finally figured out the trick.
I remembered that when Rhianna had slept at my parent’s house, they put her in my sister’s room and (almost) closed the door. We tried putting her to bed the other night, and of course she cried. But we left her there (as hard as it was, believe me it was hard) and closed the door, and only 2 minutes later she was asleep. I guess she could see Laura & I awake in the Living Room from her bedroom, and she thought she was going to miss something.
Well, now that I’ve discovered that little trick, Rhianna’s been going to sleep about 10pm every night, which makes life alot easier. I’ve also started going to work at 8am instead of 9am to make up some hours, and I have to admit: I’m tired.. No more late nights for me, I’m barely awake at 11:00 when Laura comes home from class. Hopefully some sleep this weekend will make things a little clearer for me
