I finished a bunch more Rebel missions last night, and got my second promotion, Corporal. The rebel missions are easy, and they pay well. Well, maybe easy isn’t the right word.

Typically, you’re dispatched to destroy a small base. There’s usually 2 or 3 guys guarding it, and typically two con blue, and maybe one cons white. So I usually sit at maximum range and use =/prone; /aim; /attack= and mix it up with body shots and head shots taking out the one white con. Then I’ll run in and beat up the two blue cons. I usually lose around a quarter to a third of my health, and then they’re all dead. Unlike other lairs, they don’t respawn, so then I just open fire on the base until it’s toast. The other nice thing about these missions is that they’re usually only 300-700m from Anchorhead, so I can grab two of them in the same direction, and have them finished and back for more in about 10-15 minutes.

That’s where the problem comes in. Since they’re so close to town, alot of the time I get credit without ever seeing the objective. That means someone else comes along and just decides to kill it before I get there. It’s free money, but it’s lost XP. Also, since they’re all so close to Anchorhead, alot of the time I’ll run out to a base and see it within 50m of two more bases. These other bases can be anything from what I’ve described earlier, to a few PRobot droids (con yellow) and a captain (another yellow). So I have to be very careful, or I’ll have all the probot droids or yellow cons running after me when I open fire. It’s alot of XP, but it’s alot more dangerous.

It’s alot more fun that splatting womp rats though. I made Corporal with no problem, and make 14K credits last night. That’s more than I’ve made the entire time I’ve played the game total. I also finished off Pistols III, so now I’m on the long 70,000 XP haul of Pistols IV. I’m also within 2000xp of Finishing off Rifles III & Ranged Support III.
